INTERNATIONAL CITIZENS HAVE RIGHTS
USE THEM!
Do you enjoy living in Aalborg? Do you want to keep it the same or make it better? Then come and VOTE for the municipal election.
That is the only way your wishes will be taken into consideration. So do not forget to vote at the Local Elections Tuesday 16th of November 2021.
If you cannot vote on Tuesday the 16th of November you can instead letter vote at any library or at Citizens Service from Tueday 5th of October 2021 (six weeks before election day).
Who can vote?
- A Danish citizen, or
- A citizen of another EU member state, Iceland or Norway, or
- Someone who has had permanent residence in Denmark for three years before the date of the election.
YOU ARE BENEFICIAL TO AALBORG
International citizens bring diversity and creativity to Aalborg, and there are more than 16.000 international citizens in our municipality with more than 155 different nationalities. It is documented by several researches that diversity among staff in Denmark creates more growth in a company. Diversity makes life interesting and creates a vibrant community, and I believe we should utilize this potential much more.
RIGHTS ARE POWER
JOBS FOR INTERNATIONALS
It can be tricky to find a job in Aalborg, and we know how important it is for the international citizens to find a job, both for graduates, expat families and accompanying spouses. At the same time companies and the public sector are aware of how Aalborg and Denmark in general need to be able to attract international work force.
Despite of this, we still see unemployment among international spouses and graduates.
My political vision is to improve the job initiatives for expats, spouses, graduates and in general the international community in Aalborg. I believe this can be done through;
– networking (like Xpat network North, Rotary International, etc.)
– seminars for the employers at the private and public companies about global potential
– strengthen the International House platform
– tailor made job search programs for international job seekers
